Social Proof, or Social Influence, isn’t a new concept, or one that only applies to social media but due to the explosion of social media, it is a phenomenon that is rapidly changing how we do business.

Here’s the way Social Proof works today.

You go to a blog, or a website and the somewhere you see something, a FaceBook FanPage ad, a FeedBurner subscribe box, or something similar displaying the number of subscribers or “Likes” and you say “Hey, this site looks pretty popular. 3,576 people already subscribe. It must be worth following, so I’ll do the same.”
Social proof gives your site an advantage over other sites that don’t use it, and social proof can help you grow faster by turning more people into repeat visitors.

If you haven’t already, now is the time to embrace social media and add it to your websites.
