Search Engine Ranking Reports are an excellent gage to help measure the effectiveness of your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) efforts. That said, there are several things that need to be kept in mind:

1. Many factors will determine the actual ranking that will be displayed on any given computer. These include the location of the computer, the users search history and with or on the user is signed into a browser. Search Engine Ranking Reports are not definitive but they are still very helpful to measure progress.

2. The best measure of your SEO efforts will be the number of visitors who get to your website based on the SEO and the percentage of those visitors who convert into customers or leads. Your Search Engine Ranking Report should be viewed long with your Google Analytics.

3. When deciding on what keywords you’re going to optimize and monitor in your Ranking Reports be sure you think in terms of “transactional” vs “research” keywords. Research oriented keywords are often more popular while Transactional searches often produce a much higher conversion ratio.
