I don’t remember exactly when I joined LinkedIn, I think it was in 2006. Over the years I have had “spurts of activity”, I joined several groups a few years ago, I connect with clients and friends, but for the most part I have not “done anything” on LinkedIn. Other than a few hours here and there over the last 3 years I have not been social on the social network. I have not posed questions or provided answers to the groups I had joined years ago.

This week I had another spurt. I spent about 90 minutes Wednesday and Thursday answering questions posed to a couple of the groups I had joined. On Friday I had 1 firm webinar booked, with a group of 1,200+, and I have had a very interesting e-mail exchange that may well lead to a consulting agreement.

I have known for years that LinkedIn works well as a business development channel, I’ve had these same types of experiences in the past. LinkedIn is easy to do, the problem is it’s also easy NOT to do. I suggest you spend some time on LinkedIn if you are not currently and if you need any help, either training or management… we’re here for you. 🙂
